FBR's Season starts this Saturday, April 5th! Daytona Baby!

ATTENTION ANY AND ALL DRIVERS

It's time to strap on the helmets and tighten up those harnesses because racing is about to get underway here at FBR!

This season, FBR will be running two series, a intermediate series and a pro series. We've also added a little bit of a twist to this season...This season we're going to experiment with Teams, virtual money, and an Owner's championship. It should be a fun and interesting season.

Here's the specifics on the two series:
FBR Truck Series:
1. Will be CTS physics, using the CTS mod.
2. Will be fixed setups (Expert or DMP). *If we are using the DMP setups, they will be provided to you no later then 7 days before the next event.
3. Will be 20-25% in length (to keep them short).
4. EVERYONE MUST RUN IN THIS SERIES to be eligible for the Pro series.
5. Admin's will evaluate drivers to determine if they can run in the Pro series.
6. This is considered our intermediate series.

COT Series:
1. Will be CTS physics, using the SS.Net COT mod.
2. Will be open setups, with NO aids, except driving view.
3. Will be invite only.
4. Will be 35-40% in length (as it stands now).
5. This is considered our pro series.
5. If you can't control your car, you will be removed from this series and only allowed to race in the Intermediate series until you can prove otherwise.

A complete rules package for each series will be posted in the series forums.

To register for the league racing here at FBR, read this post: Series Registration

We are all looking forward to a great season here at FBR. Good luck!

Novice Rules Package 2006 Final

Introduction:

• The FBRracingonline Novice Racing Series is designed for the rookie driver with a mix of intermiadiate and veteran drivers, hardcore or open view will be allowed, driving aids will be allowed but we encourage you to ween yourself off of aids as this will make you a better driver and increase your skill level not to mention being faster as well. Weather will be fixed 70 degrees clear 0 wind at all events. Fixed Fast and Fixed Expert setups will be used with Open setups at selected races. This series is intended to give expierence and have fun and hopefully allow you to move on to a higher level.

With that said, here are our rules.

FBR RacingOnline shall be referred to from here on as: FBRRO

• NASCAR 2003 does an excellent job of incorporating the rules of racing. It is imperative that each driver be familiar with these rules as well as the rules of the FBRRO Racing Series. Penalties issued by NASCAR 2003 are final, and will not be adjusted in the final results. We race in a very competitive environment, and respect for one another on and off the track will help to make this a successful league.

• The FBR Racing Series Administrators are:

• Head FBRRO Admin....................Larry Edmisson

• FBRRO Asst. Admin...................Butch Davis

• FBRRO Asst. Admin...................Neil Messer

• FBRRO News Director.................Larry Edmisson

• FBRRO WebMaster.....................Larry Edmisson

General Rules:

• Race distance shall be set at 30% for Road courses and 40% for Ovals.

• Yellows shall be on for races on ovals but shall be turned off for Road Courses.

• Damage model shall be set to Moderate.

• Weather shall be set to fixed with the following criteria - Clear, 70 degrees F, North, 0 mph.

• During all sessions drivers must follow the basic guidelines of entering and exiting pit lane set forth by NASCAR 2003

• Drivers are expected to be prepared for the track they are racing and be able to maintain a “high” and “low” line

• If you make a mistake and catch the apron or hit the wall, make every effort to stay out of the racing line until you are back up to racing speed. This will prevent small incidents from becoming major pile-ups

• It is important to be aware of what's going on around you. Use the F-2 screen (press the space bar to see intervals of cars around you), along with your mirrors and your spotter. Remember that the spotter is not always right, and you are ultimately responsible for what you do with your car

• When issues do arise handle the situation in a professional manner by contacting the league administration team. They will deal with the incident after reviewing the replay and chat log

• Retaliatory actions/Intentional wrecking will not be tolerated and delt with as the admins see fit and will result in a 3 race probation period.

Chat/Autochat

• No flaming or negative chat. Flaming is defined as badgering, swearing, constant chatter in reference to an incident on the track (i.e. Saying "Thank You" after an accident)

We will maintain a ZERO TOLERANCE on flaming of any kind. Flaming on the track or in forum will get you suspended or removed from the series!! Use proper channels to protest!!

• No chat during qualifying until the Qualifying Session is Complete message appears

• Chat during the race should be kept to a minimum. Chat between drivers is not completely restricted, but should try to keep it to caution periods

• Notifying fellow drivers of your intention to pit is considered proper etiquette and is required under green flag conditions. This replaces hand signals that we do not have in the sim

• Personalize your Autochat messages in N2003 so others can identify your messages as coming from you. Suggested Autochat messages

Warping:

• Use Control-C to monitor your connection during races. This will give you a real time report of your latency, quality and skew. If you are in the red, your connection is poor and is likely affecting your fellow competitors ability to compete safely. If you are experiencing warping then either drop to the back of the field or go to pit road until the warp has cleared up enough to ensure safe racing.

• Signs of warping

Connection monitor in red

Most or all cars disappearing.

Most or all cars are zigzagging

Other drivers tell you that you are warping

• Actions to take when warping

Give plenty of room

Allow others to pass without racing them

Drop to the rear of the field

Pull into the pits and wait for your connection to improve.

• If you do not take corrective action when your connection quality drops, the administration may ask you to park your car. If you do not, the administration may eject you from the race

• Standard League penalties apply to warp related incidents

Disconnects:

Laps will not be given back due to connection problems. If you disconnect, you are expected to race to get your laps back or through the Lucky Dog System if applicable.

Race Restarts:

Situations for an immediate RACE RESTART

• 50% or more drivers are booted from the race before the race is 20% complete

• Complete boot of ALL drivers from 20% complete to 99.9% with no system record of order of finish at time of boot

• In the event that a vote must be taken to determine if a race will be immediately restarted or postponed until a later day, all drivers will exit the race, and the race results will not be scored. At such time, the admin will take a poll of the drivers to determine whether to restart immediately or reschedule for a later date. A majority of two-thirds of the drivers must agree to restart the race based on the number of drivers who started the race. For example, if 18 drivers started the race and 5 left after being booted from the race, then at least 12 of the 13 remaining drivers must agree to restart the race. If a two-thirds majority do not agree, then the admin will report back to the ruling body and ask for a Rain Date to reschedule the race
In the event a race must be rescheduled; the SRE will determine the date to rerun the affected race. Criteria is as follows:

• The race must be rerun on the same day of the week, and the same time as the regularly scheduled race

• All affected drivers must be sent an email communication at LEAST 7 days prior to the intended race date from the FBRRO or administration.

Warm Up:

• There will be a 15 minute warm up period prior to every race

• Locate your pit, is it on the front stretch? Is it at the end of pit road

Qualifying:

• No chatting allowed during qualifying. It is a distraction to other drivers.

• Any chatting will result in the loss of a lap.

Pace and caution laps:

• Maintain a gap of 0.7 to 1.5 second interval between you and the car in front of you until the backstretch when getting ready to go green, then close the gap to 0.4 to 0.7 seconds.

• Stagger from the car in front of you. Generally, even position cars (2nd,4th,6th) should be in the low line, and odd position cars (1st,3rd,5th) should be in the high line. Remember though, lap cars may affect this

• Maintain pace speed. If the pace speed is 70, drive 70, not 80,60,90,60. Try to keep from causing the field to “accordion”

• No scrubbing tires or swerving

• Find your proper place in line and stay put. Misplaced drivers causing black flags are subject to penalty.

Starts and Restarts:

• Brake checking is not allowed. Brake checking is the act of tapping the brakes just before a start/restart to force the cars behind you to also brake

• Stagger until the final straight before a restart, once you on the final straight move to your proper position for the restart (if there are lapped cars, please give room so they can get to their starting position)

• The pole sitter must maintain pace speed after the pace car enters the pits and until the green flag waves.

• Go on the green flag only. A “flying” restart will be determined by anyone going more than 5 mph over pace speed when the green flag flies

• No passing before the start/finish line. This includes partial passes. You should not be alongside another car as you cross the line

• Exception: You are “waved by” by the car in front of you, i.e. “pass me high”

• Exception: You are avoiding an accident, a car that has apparently missed or lost a gear, or a car with an engine failure.

• If you are requested to pass before the start/finish line, be sure to pass to the outside. If you pass to the inside you will receive a black flag

• Every driver is REQUIRED to wait until after the second turn before executing a pass (this will prevent first turn pile ups and ensure you would not be blacked flagged) Incidents that occur within the first two laps of a start or restart will incur a double penalty. Passing after the start/finish line will only be allowed if there are 10 laps to go.

Caution:

• When the yellow flag is displayed maintain a safe and reasonable speed to the start/finish line, then let off the gas and coast into turn one, slamming on the brakes after the start/finish line can and will cause other cars behind you to wreak or pile up, this will result in a stop and go penaltie.

• If the wreck is in front of you slow to less than 90% race speed to give you enough “grip” to take evasive manoeuvres if a car suddenly slides back up the track.

• If the wreck is behind you, maintain race speed until you exit turn 4

• If you are in the vicinity of a wreck, please ease off the gas to give yourself enough room to manoeuvre in case you need to avoid the accident.

• Maintain your position. No passing once the yellow is displayed.

• Exception: To avoid the accident.

• Exception: A car has been involved in an accident or is off the pace.

• Exception: When there are 10 or fewer laps to go you may race back to the line.

• If you are involved in an accident and you get passed by cars avoiding the wreck, do not try to regain your original position (i.e. You are running in 9th before the accident then 6 cars pass you avoiding the wreck, you are now in 15th position. Do not go back to 9th place. Your new position in 15th)

• Anyone ploughing into a stationary car at full throttle will be dealt with harshly

• Leaders may allow lap cars to get their lap back at the leaders discretion. The leader is responsible for maintaining a safe pace speed and the lapped car is responsible for making a safe pass (if you are a half lap down, don't try to go full throttle to make up the lap, please use good judgment)

• When there are 10 or less laps to go, all cars not on the lead lap will enter pit road on the second or third caution lap. You are not required to enter your pit stall, just drive down pit road and wait for the NASCAR official at the end of pit road to release you. This will allow cars on the lead lap to race for position, and will allow lapped cars to maintain their relative positions behind the lead lap cars for the single file restart.

• First car not on the lead lap will be given its lap back as per NASCAR rules by the admin.

Pitting:

• No fake pitting at all. Dropping to the apron in turns 3 or 4 under green or yellow signals your intention to pit to the rest of the field and you must enter pit road. Failure to do so will result in a penalty.

• Follow NASCAR 2003 pitting rules unless otherwise noted in the Drivers Meeting.

• When pitting under caution drop to the low line on the back stretch.

• Use the F-2 screen to avoid passing cars still on the track.

• Stay in the inside lane (closest to pit stalls) when entering pits, and to the outside lane when exiting the pits.

• Maintain a .7 to 1.5 second interval when entering and exiting the pits.

• Make sure you pit on the appropriate lap. Under caution only the lead lap cars may pit the first time by.

Racing:

• If you are responsible for bringing out two cautions, whether self spins, contact with another car, or contact with the track's walls or other barriers, you will be asked by the admin to park the car.

• Bump-drafting is allowed on superspeedways only, please keep in mind that the driver you are bump-drafting may not be comfortable at that level. It is strongly advised that you know who you are bump-drafting with. Any spin caused by a bump-draft will result in a black flag penaltie.

• “Moving” another car by bumping or forcing them out of their line is not allowed.

• Dive bomb passing is defined as being to the inside and not having at least one half car length on the car in front before corner entry. This type of passing forces the leading car out of their line to avoid an accident and is not allowed.

• Failure to respect a driver's braking point by bumping or forcing them out of their line on corner entry is not allowed.

• Blocking is not allowed. Blocking is defined as changing your line more than once in an obvious attempt to prevent a trailing car from safely executing a pass. Any observed continuouse blocking after a warning has been issued by the admin will be subject to either a black flag, lost lap or ejection.

• Lapped cars are encouraged to let the leaders pass low unless they are racing for position.

• Cars slowed by damage are encouraged to let other cars pass unless they are racing for position with other damaged cars.

• It is the overtaking car's responsibility to execute a safe pass.

• If a car has position on you, you are expected to hold your line (either high or low).

• You are expected to maintain proper control of your vehicle at all times. Most incidents occur on corner entry so extra care must be taken. Failure to hold your line resulting in contact to a trailing or passing car may result in a penalty. Examples are:

Entering a corner too fast or too low, resulting in a push up the track.

Touching the apron and pushing up the track.

Diving back into the low line after a push up the track.

Braking unexpectedly without just cause. This includes jamming the brakes to correct a spin.

• Overly aggressive driving will not be tolerated. A driver forcing the issue with dangerous passes, weaving recklessly through traffic, or deliberate intimidation (bumper riding) will be warned by the admin, failure to adhere to the warning will result in a request to park the car, failure to park the car will result in ejection and the driver will be placed on a 3 race probation period.

Accidents:

If you are involved in an accident:

Try to get to the apron as quickly and safely as possible

Wait for all race traffic to get past you before turning around on the track

When unable to move due to damage, press CTRL+T to initiate a tow back to your pits

Stay low or off the track when trying to limp back to the pits for repairs

If you're less than 75% of race speed you must retire from the race. If you lost 4th gear on tracks 1 mile or greater park it. Make sure you stay on the apron and do not enter the racing lines and drive back safely to the pits.

Post Race Procedures:

• The top 3 finishers are required to export the final results and e-mail them to the Admin - m_page@fbrracingonline.com

• You may celebrate if you so wish.

Attendance Policy:

• The driver has the responsibility of notifying FBRRO that he will miss a race to avoid being charged a no-show.

• A driver with three (3) consecutive No-Shows will be placed on inactive status.

• FBRRO will send notification via e-mail to a driver that has been put on inactive status. The driver has three days to respond prior to being put on permanent inactive status.

• After three days, the inactive driver is put on permanent inactive status, and must re-apply to FBRRO to be reinstated to the series. The division slot may be assigned to another driver at this time

• A driver planning to miss three (3), or more, races in succession may apply for a Leave Of Absence (LOA) to reserve his division driving slot.

• An LOA request shall be made via e-mail to the Admin. The Admin will confirm to the driver via e-mail the activation of his LOA with a carbon copy to the FBRRO Head Admin.

Points System:

Points will be awarded in the following manner of the old NASCAR scoring system. Provisional points will be awarded as 100 points per event. If the last place running driver in a round earns less than 100 points, then the provisional for that round will be 50 points less than last place.

Penalties:

All penalties will be handed out in a timely and fair manner. Penalties incurred during a race will be as the Admin sees fit and final, there will be no argueing with the Admin for penelties as this will result in ejection from the race and a one race suspension.
